The Decision-Maker Comes First

Someone recently asked me why I chose the Audette Law logo.

I wanted something that reflected how I think about my work.

I’ve always believed the person making the decision deserves just as much attention as the legal issue. Because when clients call me, the legal issue is usually only part of the story.

A founder receives a demand letter. Business partners stop seeing eye to eye. A company discovers someone is using its brand, content, or designs.

Those are legal issues. But they’re never just legal issues.

That’s why the logo is a person inside a lightbulb.

The decision-maker comes first.

The fact that the person happens to be a woman was intentional too. As a woman who spent most of my career practicing in environments where women were often underrepresented and their perspectives undervalued, that choice felt important to me.

The lightbulb is everything else.

Business goals. Relationships. Timing. Risk.

All of the things that shape a good decision but don’t fit neatly inside a legal question.

My job isn’t just to explain what the law says.

It’s to help clients make better decisions.

The longer I practice, the more convinced I am that judgment matters more than almost anything else.

That’s what the logo represents.

And that’s what I’m building at Audette Law.
